Do they still use Haldex-based AWD systems in the R models?

I believe it's employed in the current Golf R.

But before that everyone will bitch that it's overpriced and just go buy a WRXSTIEVOFOCUSST instead.

A tiny, overpowered AWD hatch with only a DSG available? It would eat away at me every day.

I forgot that step. Let's go elsewhere with our pitchforks.

What if they did make it with the manual but didn't sell it in America? That would eat away at me everyday. Like some other things...

Unless you're buying it for hardcore offroad rally racing, Haldex works perfectly fine.

It will never be the same as having a third pedal.

I've heard so many people say this, but... it's still an automatic. Seriously, what is so special about a DSG?

Awesome video but what does that have to do with DSG vs Manual?

It'd hardly be surprising. One of the Polo GTI's biggest flaws - as has been reflected in its fairly poor sales figures and lukewarm reception from journos - is its lack of a manual option.

No, but I have driven a DSG R32 and a manual GTI of the same generation, and I found that the DSG was quite a detriment to the driving experience. I also have driven my dad's automatic NC Miata with paddle shifters, finding it a bit boring.

Some of us don't care if the car is faster with a dual clutch. We just want to shift it ourselves all the time with a stick and third pedal.
